How Equity Sharing Works

A true partnership

You are paid up to 20% of your home’s value. It’s not a gift. Investors are making a homeownership investment in your home. In return, investors receive a share of any appreciation or depreciation in your home’s price at the time it is sold. This is not a loan, so no interest is charged , and investors don’t receive monthly payments. Instead, investors hope to earn a profit when you sell your home. You can also buy the investors out. The investors will let you know their specifics.

The easiest way to understand is through an example. We’ll show you how a deal could resolve in three scenarios.

Current Home Value: 500,000. Investment: $50,000. Share of Change in Value: 35%.

The return on investment comes only from a share of the change in value of the home. All home equity you create by paying down your mortgage belongs to you. The table below demonstrates this.
